Is WriteFlow free?

This release has no WriteFlow subscription fee. You connect your own Gemini API key. Google’s quotas, terms, and any API charges apply—this is not unlimited AI access.

Does it read the whole conversation?

No. The current extension uses your chosen text field or selection within that field. To draft a reply, paste the incoming message and tell it what you want to say.

Where does it work?

It is designed for standard text fields and editable areas on HTTP and HTTPS websites. Custom editors, browser pages, PDFs, and document canvases may not work. The standalone writing workspace provides a copy-and-paste alternative. Website-specific compatibility is still being tested.

Can I use it with private client messages?

Do not send personal, sensitive, or confidential information through Google’s unpaid Gemini services. Google may use free-tier content for product improvement and human review. Review your project’s service tier and Google’s data-use terms before submitting content.

Can I use my existing AI chat subscription?

This version connects through a Gemini API key, not a ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini chat login. API access and usage are managed through your Google project.

Why is this a beta download?

The Chrome Web Store listing is not live yet. This version is available for manual installation and testing. You may encounter issues with some websites. It is intended for adults using Gemini in supported regions and under applicable service terms.

Install the beta in Chrome

  1. Download and extract the ZIP into a permanent folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Click Load unpacked and choose the extracted folder containing manifest.json.
  4. Open WriteFlow Settings, add your key, and test the connection. Refresh your open websites.

Privacy Policy

WriteFlow is provided by LEGILEGACY. This policy describes the extension and these static support pages. WriteFlow helps adult professionals rewrite, translate, and draft text using their own Gemini API key.

Information processed

When you open the assistant for a field, it reads that field or your selection into a preview. When you click Generate, the preview text, optional instructions, chosen language, and writing preferences are sent directly to Google's Gemini API. Source text may include messages, communications, and any identifiers you choose to provide. The extension does not automatically read full conversations or social posts.

Your API key authenticates these requests to Google. Test connection sends a sample sentence, and Refresh list requests model information. WriteFlow does not send the page URL, browsing history, or unrelated page content in its Gemini request payload.

Local storage

Your key, model, language, writing preferences, enable setting, and excluded hostnames are stored in your local Chrome profile. The extension does not sync them. Local storage access is restricted to trusted extension contexts. This is not a password-encrypted vault; someone with access to your browser profile may be able to retrieve stored credentials.

WriteFlow keeps drafts and suggestions in memory while its panel or workspace is open, without writing message history to extension storage. Your website may separately save drafts under its own policy.

Google processing

Google receives requested content, the API credential, and connection information inherent in an HTTPS request, such as the connecting IP address. Its retention, security, and data use are governed by Google's applicable terms.

Google's unpaid services may use inputs and outputs for product improvement and human review. Do not submit sensitive, confidential, or personal information through unpaid services. Billing-enabled projects have different data-use terms. Read the Gemini API terms before choosing your project.

Developer access and sharing

WriteFlow has no LEGILEGACY-operated message-processing backend, advertising system, or analytics. We do not receive your Gemini drafts, results, or key through the extension. We do not sell extension data or use it for advertising. Google processing described above is a third-party service you connect to for writing assistance.

Support and website hosting

If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include. We use that information to respond and resolve the issue, and retain it only while needed for support or applicable recordkeeping obligations. Do not send API keys or confidential drafts. Our email and website-hosting providers may process support messages or normal connection logs. These bundled static pages contain no analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or cookies; hosting or an embedding website may have additional practices that must be disclosed by its operator.

Your controls

You can edit text before generating, use copy instead of insertion, pause the extension, exclude hostnames, and limit site access in Chrome. Remove key in Settings deletes the locally stored key; uninstalling removes the extension's local storage. Revoke the key in Google AI Studio to invalidate it. Removing local data does not delete information already processed by Google. Contact support about information you emailed to us.

Eligibility and updates

WriteFlow's Gemini features are intended for professional use by adults aged 18 and over, in locations and under service tiers permitted by Google's terms. The extension does not verify your age or billing status automatically. This policy will be revised if data practices change; material changes should be reviewed before continued use.

WriteFlow helps you improve, translate, and draft messages in supported Chrome text fields. You provide your own Gemini API key. Google's quotas and any API charges apply.

Connect Gemini

  1. Open the extension icon and select Settings & API key.
  2. Create your own key at Google AI Studio.
  3. Paste it into the key field, save, and click Test connection.
  4. Refresh your website, click an editable field, and click the blue Write button.

Use only fictional or non-sensitive content with unpaid Gemini services. Review the privacy policy before generating.

Try a fictional draft

With the extension installed and enabled on this site, focus this practice field. Generate a suggestion, review it, then insert. This field does not submit or save anything.

Common questions

Does it read my conversation?
No. It reads the chosen field/selection. For replies, paste the relevant incoming text into the assistant and provide instructions.

Why is there no Write button?
Refresh the page and refocus the field. Check that the extension is enabled, the site is allowed in Chrome, and the hostname is not excluded. Browser pages, PDFs, file URLs, document canvases, and some custom editors are unsupported.

Quota or rate-limit error?
Check the selected project's Gemini rate limits. Wait for the relevant limit to reset. WriteFlow does not offer unlimited requests.

Model or API-key error?
Check your key and project permissions. Save the key before refreshing the model list; select a supported text model and verify its pricing.

Insertion refused?
The original field may have changed. Copy the suggestion or reopen the assistant. If a custom editor resets inserted text, use copy/paste.

How do I remove my key?
Use Remove key in Settings. You can also revoke it in AI Studio.
